Instructions For A Light And Sound Machine

Austria · 2005 · 17 minutes · NR

By using montage and printer techniques, director processes images from Sergio Leone's "The Good, the Bad & the Ugly." He studies the image and strips it of its original color, form and meaning. As a result there's a hero, who seems to feel he has been surrendered to the mercy of the director, in a realm of shadows. Tscherkassky describes this work as ‘an attempt to transform a romantic Western into a Greek tragedy’.
