KINOSCOPE Privacy Policy
KINOSCOPE is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using the KINOSCOPE website and the KINOSCOPE mobile application (together, the “Service”).
Information We Collect
The KINOSCOPE mobile application is used to sign in to an existing account and watch films. When you log in, the app sends the email or username and password you enter to KINOSCOPE to verify them, and in return receives a secure sign-in token. That token is stored on your device in the iOS Keychain so you do not have to log in every time. The app also stores your display name and email address on the device so it can show your name in the app. This information is removed when you log out; your password is not stored on the device. To confirm whether your account has an active subscription, the app sends this token to KINOSCOPE and receives back only whether your membership is active. The app does not process payments and does not include third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software.
On the KINOSCOPE website, we collect the information you provide during registration or subscription, including your first and last name, email address, password, and the Payment method details necessary to process your subscription. We also collect communications you send us, such as customer support requests or feedback. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) may be recorded for security and operational purposes.
Video Playback
Films are streamed via Vimeo’s content delivery network. When you watch a film, network requests are made directly from your device to Vimeo’s servers. Vimeo’s handling of viewer data is governed by Vimeo’s own privacy policy, available at https://vimeo.com/privacy.
Children’s Privacy
KINOSCOPE is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the bottom of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or by other means. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
